Dr. Ingryd Lorenzana, OD, FAAO, FOVDRA, CBHP
Doctor. Survivor. Innovator.
From struggling patient to pioneering healer, Dr. Lorenzana’s personal journey transformed her into one of the nation’s leading experts in neuro-optometry and brain-vision optimization.
She doesn’t just treat eyes—she transforms lives by retraining the brain’s visual processing system through her groundbreaking CogniViiSION® methodology.
From Patient to Pioneer
Dr. Lorenzana’s personal story is the foundation of her mission.
The Struggle
Born in Colombia, Dr. Lorenzana immigrated to the U.S. at age 10. Throughout her childhood, she struggled with reading difficulties, slow processing speed, and attention challenges despite being intellectually capable. She was told her struggles were due to English being her second language—a misdiagnosis that lasted years.
The Discovery
During Optometry School, Dr. Lorenzana discovered the root cause: Convergence Insufficiency (CI)—an eye-teaming problem where the eyes drift outward during near work. This condition forced her brain to work overtime just to keep words in focus.
The Breakthrough
Vision therapy transformed her life. This personal breakthrough became pivotal to completing her degree and inspired her life’s mission: helping others discover the brain-vision connection that had been missed in her own case.
The Mission
Today, Dr. Lorenzana is a leading pediatric and neuro-optometrist who specializes in finding the root causes others miss. She founded Brain Vision Institute in 2012 with a singular purpose: to provide comprehensive neuro-optometry and vision therapy to patients of all ages.
